A Quo is Montepeloso’s most approachable bottling, first produced in 2008 as an affordable entry point into the estate’s style. The estate itself is only about 15 acres, tucked into the hills of Suvereto, run by Swiss-born winemaker Fabio Chiarelotto, who took over in the late 1990s and rebuilt the vineyards from scratch — retraining, replanting, and regrafting to coax elegance out of a very hot climate. Farming is practicing biodynamic, harvest is by hand, yields are kept low (under 40 hL/ha), and the wine sees about four months in second-passage barriques, unfiltered.
