One of my absolute favorites. The aroma alone transports you to the foothills of the Italian alps, with the smell of moss and crisp mountain air. Truly fantastic wine.

background

A characterful and relatively easygoing expression of Bramaterra’s unique terroir, “Dellamesola” comprises 60% Nebbiolo, 20% Vespolina, 15% Croatina, and 5% Uva Rara, from 40-to-45-year-old vines situated just outside the delimitation of the Bramaterra appellation. Aged one year in large Slavonian oak casks and bottled with minimal sulfur, it is open-knit and acid-driven, with lifted, vividly articulated dark red fruit and a subtle floral character. Despite its relative accessibility, however, “Dellamesola” spotlights the volcanic thrust of Bramaterra in clear fashion.
